Yamnuska Wolfdog Sanctuary

This was a recent trip to the Yamnuska Wolfdog Sanctuary in May 2023. A pilot program for a new offering of photography tours! I jumped at the chance to be part of this, as I love photographing dogs and supporting great charities!

What you will find when you visit this place is a gorgeous building (with an amazing gift shop, by the way!) that leads out into a sprawling sanctuary of forest, fields and out-buildings for the surrounding packs of wolfdogs. The staff are all super-friendly, knowledgeable and passionate about the wolfdogs.

They are doing great work at Yamnuska Wolfdog Sanctuary, providing a safe place for these amazing pack animals who are 'too wild to be domestic, and too domestic to be wild'.

I highly recommend a visit to the Yamnuska Wolfdog Sanctuary. It’s just west of Cochrane and it’s a beautiful place with beautiful animals. What’s not to love? Throw in a hike at either Big Hills Springs or Glenbow Ranch, then ice cream at McKay’s in Cochrane, and you’ve got yourself a pretty great day!

Until next time,

Alison

Photographing real life is a powerful way to capture genuine moments and emotions, and to tell a story. While posed photos can be beautiful, they often lack the authenticity and emotion that come documentary photography (my specialty). So the next time you're considering a family photoshoot, consider opting for a Day in the Life session with me - you’ll be glad you did!

Are YOU ready for your story to be told through photographs? I can’t wait to hear from you!
